Halloween Makeup
One of the most exciting times of the year, when you can truly let your ‘freak flag fly’, is Halloween. However, Special effects makeup is not only difficult to do, it is difficult to make it look good and last all night through a Halloween party. Everyone has had that moment when they think of the best Halloween makeup and costume, but then absolutely butcher the execution of it. Let me help you bring your Halloween creation to life, as it is what I do best.
Struggling with a makeup idea? Let me help you create the most horrifying or mystical look ever. Here are some special effects makeup techniques we can use to create your Halloween makeup look.
Eyebrow Blocking
While eyebrows are always in style, they sometimes get in the way of your Halloween makeup. Brow blocking is a great way to create more of a blank canvas and give your face an alien-esque appearance. Brow blocking can be executed in a number of ways, including:
Wax brow blocking
Glue stick method
Latex appliance
Prosthetic
Eyebrow blocking may be the one thing that separates your Halloween makeup from all the rest.
Wound Makeup Effects
Sometimes all your Halloween makeup needs is a little bit of blood and gore. Wound special effects makeup is an excellent way to add the “gag” factor to any Halloween costume. Some wound makeup effects include:
Burns (fire and chemical)
Gashes and cuts
Scars and Branding
Bullet Wounds
Character Creation
If you are looking to take your Halloween costume to a whole other level, character creation is the way to go (and also my specialty). Character creation takes all forms of makeup into account (wounds, body painting, special effects, beauty makeup) and brings them to together to create the perfect Halloween look.
As character creation is a longer process, a consultation is sometimes needed (and is complimentary) depending on how complex your character is.
